THE CHERRY BEACH PROJECT

The mission of the Cherry Beach Project is to acquire and preserve forever an undeveloped critical dune and 400 feet of beach property along Lake Michigan, immediately adjacent to Cherry Beach Park, Chikaming Township, MI.

I (we) understand this project is contingent upon receipt of a grant from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources that requires approximately $1.425 million in private matching funds from the community. Pledges for these private funds must be confirmed to the MDNR no later than September 30th, 2019. Notification of the grant award is expected by December 15, 2019. I (we) pledge the following amount to be paid by April 15, 2020 and intend to fulfill our pledge when Berrien Community Foundation notifies us of the successful securing of the grant.

Berrien Community Foundation (BCF) is partnering with Chikaming Township and The Cherry Beach Project. BCF is approved by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(C)(3) tax-exempt organization, and all donations are tax deductible to the extent provided by law. Please note that while we need to secure pledges for the Cherry Beach Project no later than September 30, 2019, we do not want to collect funds until after securing the grant from the Department of Natural Resources in December. If any funds are collected prior to this date and the grant from the Department of Natural Resources is not secured, dollars will be used for the maintenance and improvement of Chikaming Township Parks. We will never share your data.
