REGISTERING TO VOTE

You can register to vote at your local Clerk’s office, or at any Secretary of State branch office. Online at Michigan Online Voter Registration (state.mi.us)

If you are registering less than 15 days before an Election, you must register to vote in person at your local Clerk’s office. Proof of residency will be required. (Examples of proof of residency are: Copy of a bank statement, any type of utility bill, gas, electric water or paycheck stub – any of these with your Chikaming Township address on it.) The polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. – to 8:00 p.m. Chikaming Township Hall, 13535 Red Arrow Highway, Harbert, Michigan

PROPOSAL 2022-2 EARLY VOTING

Berrien County has established an Early Voting Site for those of you, in Chikaming Township, who wish to vote early. Early voting, which is being conducted by Berrien County and will be taking place at the Berrien County South County Building. 1205 North Front Street, Niles, Michigan Nine days of early voting will begin October 26, 2024 and run through November 3, 2024. Please keep in mind, once you place your ballot into a tabulator, you will not be able to retrieve that ballot, if you feel you have made an error. Early Voting Public Notice.

PERMANENT BALLOT LIST

Those of you who have placed yourselves on the Permanent Ballot List will automatically receive an absentee ballot in the mail.

Those of you who have not signed up for the Permanent Ballot List will need to contact Paula or Gloria at Chikaming Township Hall and request the form to sign up to be placed on the permanent ballot list. Permanent Ballot List Form

Those of you who are on the Permanent Absent Voter Ballot List will receive Absent Voter Ballots sometime the beginning of October 2024.
