Chikaming Township is beautifully located in scenic Southwestern Michigan on the shores of Lake Michigan a few miles north of the Indiana/Michigan border. The Township’s character is largely defined by its attractive natural features. The most significant of these is the Lake Michigan shoreline, with its wooded sand dunes and expansive beaches.

    The Twin Cities Area Transportation Study (TwinCATS) is updating its Long Range Transportation Plan, which will guide transportation improvements and investments over the next 25 years. This plan is essential for securing state and federal funding for future transportation projects in our community.

    Your feedback will help identify transportation needs, prioritize future improvements, and ensure our transportation system works better for everyone

  • Cherry Beach Passes are Now on sale for $20! Please bring in your most recent copy of your Tax bill and/or vehicle registration to the front desk and purchase yours today! Parking Fees will go into effect Memorial Day weekend. Passes are non-transferrable, limited two (2) per household and must be adhered to the lower passenger corner passenger side of the windshield. They cannot be taped or laminated.

  • The cap on Short Term Rentals has been reached.
    No additional applications will be accepted. Applicants may need to wait until the next permit cycle in 2027. No waiting list will be established. The number of available permits will be announced after the renewal period ends on February 1, 2027.
